Well, How 'Bout That!

Extraordinary Uses for Ordinary Things:

taken from the book, which shows you 2.317 ways to save money and time. THESE are REALLY fun! I'll keep adding as I find more cool ideas... let me know if you try one of them and how it turned out!

1. Scent the Room: saturate a cotton ball with your favorite cologne and drop it into your vacuum cleaner bag. Now, as you vacuum, the scent will be expressed and gently permeate the room!
2.Make a Hair Tonic: Spice up your hair care regimen w/ a homemade tonic that will enhance your natural color and impart shine. For dark hair: 1 tbsp crumbled sage or 1 sprig chopped fresh rosemary or a mixture of 1 tsp allspice, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp ground cloves. For blonde hair: use 1 tbsp chamomile. Pour 1 cup boiling water over the herb or spice mix, let it steep for 30 min, strain it thru a coffee filter, and let it cool. Pour it repeatedly over your hair (use a dishpan to catch the runoff) as a final rinse after shampooing. {i don't know if this works for fakers...i'll try it and let you know}
3. Bake Better Beans: do you love baked beans but not their aftereffects? Adding a pinch of baking soda to baked beans as they're cooking will significantly reduce their gas-producing properties.
4. Fluff Up Your Omelets: want to know the secret to making fluffier omelets? For every three eggs used, add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
5. Keep Pets off Furniture: Place a piece of aluminum foil on the seat cushions of couches, chairs, etc. and after one try at settling down on the noisy surface, your pet will no longer consider it a comfy place to snooze!
