Meet Me There

Meet Me There
a poem

Bruises, Skinned, and Bleeding knees

Here on this sphere I aim to please

Shiny Things, they draw me in
My own foundation caving in

I curse the Bruise, I curse the Skin
My own foundation wearing thin
My blood-soaked body cannot win
I've heard about one Grand Allure
No more gravity obscure

It hides in Waiting

Beckons me in

It crushed Spineless, Haughty Sin
Meet me there
the Air is Clear
the Sun, it need not be aware

He strokes your hair and calls you Fair
Fairy tales, so useless there

O please, My love,

Please meet me there

Wings

When I see You face to Face,
I will finally understand fully
the encompassing act of grace.

Lord, I wanted to enjoy
all my dust-to-dusted things.
I still do not see above the clutter.
Lord, Jesus, give me wings!

Wait

(a poem by Russell Kelfer and taken from the book "Emotional Purity" by Heather Arnel Paulsen)

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master so gently said,
"Child, you must wait".
"Wait? You say, wait!" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why! Is Your hand shortened? Or have You not heard? By faith, I have asked, and am claiming Your Word.

"My future and all to which i can relate Hangs in the balance, and You tell me to WAIT? I'm needing a 'Yes', a go-ahead sign, Or even a 'No' to which i can resign.

"And Lord, You promised that if we believe We need but to ask, and we shall receive. And, Lord, I've been asking, and this is my cry: "I'm weary of asking! I need a reply!"

Then quietly, softly, i learned of my fate
As my Master replied once again, "You must wait."
So, I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut
And I grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting...for what?"

He seemed, then, to kneel
And His eyes wept with mine,
And He tenderly said, "
I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens, and darken th
e sun. I could raise the dead, and cause mountains to run. "All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be. You would have what you want-- But, you wouldn't know Me. You'd not know the depth of My Love for each saint; You'd not know the power I give to the faint;

"You'd not learn to see through the clouds of despair; You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there; You'd not know the joy of resting in Me; When darkness and silence were all you could see. "You'd never experience that fullness of love As the peace of My Spirit descends like a dove; You'd know that I give and I save, for a start, But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.

"The glow of My comfort late into the night, The faith that I give when you walk without sight, The depth that's beyond getting just what you asked Of an infinite God, who makes what you have last. "You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee, What it means that, 'My grace is sufficient for thee.'
Yes, your dreams for your loved one overnight would come true, But, oh, the loss if i lost what I'm doing in you! "So, be silent, My child, and in time you will see That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me. And though oft' may My answers seem terribly late, My most precious answer of all is still, "Wait."

I share this poem for its amazing potency in revealing the most awesome, perfect, loving, and in control God whose plan is above all human reasoning, and completely for His glory. God be praised for the life-lessons on waiting...

Sacred Tower

Come sweet sinner
Dark and dirty
Flag is fallen
People hurting
Men cry out
And women wail
Children question
To no avail

where is the light?
The shadows inquire
And burning bright
The Sacred Tower
I am the Light
Our Fortress cries
We’ll stand to fight
Combating lies
A rooster crows
A drunkard kneels
A whore is silent
A stoic feels
A cynic nods
A patient smiles
A doctor questions
A Light for miles

O Sacred Tower
Pleading heard
Come save the smitten
Filled with false word
The scholar and the babe agree
There’s more to life, and Life is Thee.

Raven

Hidden beneath a raven’s eye
A desperate silence
A deafening cry
Her heart is beating
Lips are stilled
Her plastic smile
With lies is filled

Do I excuse or do I pardon?
A heart of tears
A soul that’s hardened
A tarnished gate
Into the garden?

The raven crows
She veils her face
And her desires
For beauty chase

oh what a waste
wing shadowed smile
the silhouette lasts but a while

eternal smile
careless grin
eternal joy
comes from within.

My purpose

any riptide in my easy-flowing ocean would turn into a tsunami if i tried to handle it on my own.

i'd drown.
and take those nearest down with me.
I am stressed.
I am Yours.
I'm confused.
You are mine.
I am so vain, conceited, sinful.
You take upon each and every one of my sins as Your own.
My life is like a flower, a wave, a vapor.
My purpose is eternal.
My purpose is His purpose.
I should lose myself if i am to find true peace,
contentment,
unexplainable,
unequaled
intimacy with Christ.

God's Mystery- a poem

I do not understand I cannot comprehend I am constantly confounded Your mystery has no end Am I to embrace my confusion? Accept a belief in a God whose mystery strengthens me? I am, Yes, I am. Like a tree in the wind every branch every strand Yes, I am If I fall I become firewood to set the world ablaze feel the heat of Your searing Truth Your soothing Grace as I bask in Your Warmth Yes, I am.

I do not lack

I want faith that can shift a mountain
that can fill canyons to overflow
I want faith that can lift me high into the air
and take me anywhere
I want rugged feet from a well-trodden road
the sun at my back
jagged rocks down below
my past behind
for my faith moves me forward
I do not lack
